Employees are paid on the 1st and 15th of each month. If either falls on a weekend or holiday, then payment is made on the first business day prior to the 1st or 15th. (This does not apply to beginning of the fiscal year, July 1st or beginning of the calendar year, January 1 or the end of the quarter, Mar. 31, Sept. 30)
For employees paid on an hourly basis, the hours worked the 1st through the 15th are paid on the 1st. The hours worked the 16th through the 31st are paid on the 15th of the following month.
There are two statutory pension plans, TRA and PERA. Both pension plans are governed by the State of Minnesota. These two plans are defined benefit plans.
Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) – All licensed employees.
Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) – All non-licensed employees, unless one qualifies for an exemption.
Time Sheets cannot cross pay periods. Timesheets need to be completed, signed by your supervisor, and then forwarded to Payroll within two days after the period ends. Example: hours worked July 1st through July 15th would be paid on Aug. 1.

The district uses and third party vendor, Trusted Employees, to conduct background checks. All employees are required to complete the background check through Trusted Employees as a condition of employment. The cost of the background check is the responsibility of the employee. An email request to complete the background check is sent to the candidate's personal email. The email will be sent from Trusted Employees.The school district shall require that applicants for school district positions who receive an offer of employment and all individuals, except enrolled student volunteers, who are offered the opportunity to provide athletic coaching services or other extracurricular academic coaching services to the school district, regardless of whether any compensation is paid, submit to a criminal history background check. The offer of employment or the opportunityto provide services shall be conditioned upon a determination by the school district that an individual’s criminal history does not preclude the individual from employment with, or provision of services to, the school district.
